Joe Manganiello & Lera Abova Join Cast of One Piece Live-Action Season 2 as Mr. O and Miss All Sunday


During its annual Geeked Week livestream event, Netflix announced that Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova have joined the cast for the upcoming second season of the live-action One Piece series

Manganiello has been cast as Mr. O/Crocodile and Abova as Miss All Sunday/Nico Robin.

They join a large slate of new second season cast members that include: 

  • • Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday/Nefertari Vivi
  • • Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra
  • • Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha
  • • Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk
  • • Callum Kerr as Smoker
  • • Julia Rehwald as Tashigi 
  • • Rob Colletti as Wapol
  • • Ty Keogh as Dalton
  • • David Dastmalchian as Galdino/Mr. 3
  • • Jazzara Jaslyn as Mikita/Ms. Valentine
  • • Camrus Johnson as Gem/Mr. 5
  • • Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9. 
  • • Clive Russell as Crocus
  • • Werner Coetser as Dorry
  • • Brendan Murray as Brogy

Additionally, Netflix shared a new video featuring the live-action cast in a table read for the second season. The video also teases the appearance of Tony Tony Chopper (who remains unvoiced). 

Meanwhile, the show’s main cast from season one includes:

  • • Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
  • • Emily Rudd as Nami
  • • Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
  • • Taz Skylar as Sanji
  • • Morgan Davies as Koby
  • • Vincent Regan as Monkey D. Garp
  • • Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown

Joe Tracz (Percy Jackson and the Olympians co-executive producer) joined the second season as a new writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner with Matt Owens (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Luke Cage writer). Steve Maeda, who developed the series with Owens and served as co-showrunner in the first season, will remain as an executive producer.

Netflix’s One Piece live-action series is a co-production with Tomorrow Studios (Cowboy Bebop live action, Snowpiercer). The first season contained eight total episodes and was released on Netflix on August 31, 2023. 

Eiichiro Oda’s original One Piece manga series was first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 22, 1997 under the Jump Comics label. A total of 109 tankobon volumes have been released as of July 2024, with a 110th volume due out on November 1, 2024.

The manga inspired a 1999 OVA from Production I.G and a long-running TV anime adaptation from Toei Animation that has been airing since 1999. The latter surpassed the 1000th episode mark on November 21, 2021. The franchise also inspired numerous anime films, stage plays, video games, drama CDs, card games, art and guidebooks, and more.
