The official website for the Me & Roboco anime series revealed that the upcoming film will be delayed to a new premiere date in Japan of April 18, 2025. The film was initially set to be released this Fall 2024, but was pushed back to “improve the film’s quality.”
A new “super” teaser visual for the film was also unveiled, featuring the main characters Bondo Taira and the titular, Roboco.
Me & Roboco aired for a total of 28 episodes, beginning from December 5, 2022 until June 19, 2023. Each episode lasted for around three minutes.
Many production staff members from the TV anime series are returning to work on the film. Akitaro Daichi (Ojamaru) is directing the film, with Michihiro Sato (Delicious Party Precure episode director) as assistant director, Sayuri Ooba (The Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 scriptwriter) as screenwriter, Yuko Ebara (Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS animation director) as character designer, Manami Koyama (Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer) as art director, Ayami Minowa (Yu-Gi-Oh: VRAINS) as color designer, and Reina Tanimoto as director of photography. Gallop is in charge of the animation production for the film.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast consists of:

- • Minami Tsuda as Bondo
- • Ryotaro Okiayu as Gachi-Gorilla
- • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Hotsuo
- • M.A.O as Madoka
- • Kotono Mitsuishi as Bondo’s mother
The original gag manga series by Shuhei Miyazaki was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 6, 2020. The series is published under the Jump comics label and has released 19 tankobon volumes as of September 2024.
Viz Media releases the Me & Roboco manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Now that Bondo has his very own OrderMaid, it’s time to show her off to his friends. But will they be able to handle Roboco? And what exactly is the secret behind this special robot?!
