You’re Next Releases Final Official English-Subbed & Dubbed Theatrical Trailer


TOHO International has released a final new official theatrical trailer for the upcoming My Hero Academia: You’re Next anime film with both English subtitles and dub versions. The film will premiere in the United States and Canada starting October 11, 2024 in both subbed and dubbed. 

Tensai Okamura (Darker Than Black, Wolf’s Rain, Blue Exorcist, Kuromukuro) is directing the new anime film, with Kenji Nagasaki (director of the previous movies and TV series’ first three seasons, current chief director of TV series) as animation advisor, Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia series screenwriter, previous films’ scriptwriter) as scriptwriter, and Yuki Hayashi (returning) as music composer. Bones is in charge of the animation production. 

The main voice cast from the TV anime series are all reprising their roles for the fourth overall film in the franchise. Some new cast members for the film include Meru Nukumi as Anna Scervino and Mamoru Miyano as Giulio Gandini. All Might voice actor Kenta Miyake is also voicing the film’s antagonist, Dark Might. 

The previous My Hero Academia films include 2018’s Two Heroes, 2019’s Heroes Rising, and 2021’s World Heroes’ Mission.  

The My Hero Academia TV anime series first premiered in 2016 and is broadcasting its current seventh season that began airing on May 4, 2024. Crunchyroll is streaming all seasons and previous films worldwide, outside of Japan. 

The anime is based on the original manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 7, 2014 to August 5, 2024. A total of 41 tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2, 2024, with a 42nd and final volume set for release in December 2024.

VIZ Media releases the manga series in English, which describes the main synopsis as:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
