OMORI Manga Begins Serialization

The OMORI manga adaptation has debuted in the August 2024 issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon, which went on sale on June 25 JST.

The start of the manga comes a few days before the launch of an OMORI collaboration café by Tree Village. The café will first open in Tokyo (June 29 to July 26 JST), and later in Osaka and Hakata (both from August 16 to September 3 JST). There will be a variety of merchandise like a glass with Omori’s face and cushion keyholders in addition to the foodstuff.

OMORI is a 2D psychological horror indie RPG developed by OMOCAT in RPGmaker. The OMORI X (formerly Twitter) account has said that the manga will be suitable for newcomers as well as existing players.

The game is described as:

Explore a strange world full of colorful friends and foes. Navigate through the vibrant and the mundane in order to uncover a forgotten past. When the time comes, the path you’ve chosen will determine your fate… and perhaps the fate of others as well.

OMORI was released on Steam in December 2020 and later had a Japanese localization and Nintendo Switch and PS4 ports. It was on Xbox One and Xbox X/S via Game Pass but got removed in June 2023.

A spring 2024 launch window for the Nui Konoito-drawn manga was announced in March. The announcement of the manga’s existence was made in November 2022.
