During a special Pokémon Presents livestream presentation celebrating Pokémon Day, the Pokémon Company International revealed several new game and entertainment experiences for the franchise in 2024 and 2025.
Some of the latest announcements for the Pokémon franchise include a new entry in the main video game series called Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket mobile app available on iOS and Android devices, and many more.
Here are the details that came from the livestream presentation:
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Arrives in 2025
The Pokémon Company announced the arrival of a new mainline Pokémon video game titled Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The game will be released simultaneously worldwide and exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in 2025.
The new entry follows an exciting adventure for players in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to transform the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.
A trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A was released on the official Pokémon YouTube channel and more information about the game can be found on its official website.
The Free Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket App Launches in 2024
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is a free-to-start app that will launch on iOS and Android devices sometime in 2024. The app will introduce “immersive cards” from the Trading Card Game, with special visual effects that lets players fully experience the card’s illustration in an innovative digital format.
Players can collect cards and open two booster packs every day at no cost, including cards with nostalgic illustrations, as well as new cards found only in the app. In addition, players will be able to engage in quick battles featuring streamlined rules based on the classic Pokémon TCG battle system.
A launch trailer for the app was released and more details can be found here.
