The Skip and Loafer anime’s X (formerly Twitter) account has released a Spring visual, drawn by character designer Manami Umeshita.
The post’s caption congratulates fresh students and employees and sends good wishes their way.
Skip and Loafer began airing last year on April 4. The anime is based on the Kodansha-published manga series by Misaki Takamatsu, which began serialization in Monthly Afternoon in 2018 and has 10 tankoubon volumes as of March 2024.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga as:
Mitsumi is bound for high school in Tokyo! She’s got book smarts, but this small-town girl is about to find out she’s massively unprepared for the social norms of big city high schoolers.
The P.A. Works-produced anime was directed and series composed by Kotomi Deai (Natsume’s Book of Friends director) with Yuriko Abe (The Aquatope on White Sand episode director and storyboarder) as assistant director. Other staff include E-Caesar as art director, Yuuko Kobari (Inu-Oh) as color designer, Kazuto Izumida (The Heike Story) as compositing director, and Takatsugu Wakabayashi (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer) as music composer.
Its cast includes Tomoyo Kurosawa as Mitsumi Iwakura, Akinori Egoshi as Sosuke Shima, Yuka Terasaki as Mika Egashira, Maya Uchida as Yuzuki Murashige, and Megumi Han as Makoto Kurume.
In February, the anime was temporarily streamed for free on the FullAnimeTV YouTube channel to raise funds for Ishikawa prefecture in the wake of the Noto Earthquake that happened at the start of the year. Mitsumi’s hometown is based on Ishikawa’s Suzu City.
