A new teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming theatrical screening of Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 Chapter 2, which will begin screening in Japan on November 22, 2024. The second chapter will contain four episodes (episodes 3 to 6) on Japanese Blu-ray & DVD.
The second film is also known in Japan as Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL 3199 Dainishou: Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki. The remake series overall is currently being delivered to Japanese theaters in seven parts. Chapter 1, Kuro no Shinryaku, premiered on July 19, 2024. The new series will consist of a total of 26 episodes.
Naomichi Yamato (Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! assistant director) is directing Space Battleship Yamato 3199, with Harutoshi Fukui (Space Battleship Yamato 2205, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202) as screenwriter, co-scriptwriter, and chief director. Studio Mother is in charge of the main animation production company, with Satelight providing production assistance.

Space Battleship Yamato 3199 is a new sequel project to the Uchu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi – Kōsho -STASHA- film, which debuted in Japan in February 2022.
The original Space Battleship Yamato TV series aired in Japan from 1974 to 1975 and inspired several sequel series and movies, including the 1980’s Yamato yo Towa ni movie. The remake anime series began with the 2012-2013 Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199.
Crunchyroll is streaming Space Battleship Yamato 3199 in select territories, with the first two episodes now available on the service. It describes the synopsis of the new film series as:
In 2207, two years after Gamilas and Iscandar vanished, a colossal object, the “Grand Reverse” appears, effortlessly breaching Earth’s defenses. Swarms of troops and multi-legged tanks swiftly conquer Earth’s capital city. Amidst the chaos, the old Yamato crew receives a secret order and now begins a voyage for unseen dimensions while humanity’s fate hangs in the balance.
