A new collaboration key visual showcasing the works of the late Cocoa Fujiwara has been released, showcasing The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies and Inu x Boku SS.
The special visual highlights the respective heroines of both series, which include Ririchiyo Shirakiin on the left and Byakuya Mimori on the right. It was drawn by Haruko Iizuka (Horimiya, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale), who worked as character designer for both anime series.
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies will begin broadcasting in Japan on July 9, 2024.
Akiyo Oohashi (The Stranger by the Shore) is directing the anime, with Yuniko Ayana (BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Iizuka as character designer, and MAYUKO (Ranking of Kings) as music composer. Bones is in charge of the animation production.

The manga ran in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker from September 21, 2013 to March 20, 2015 and has been collected into three total tankobon volumes. It is the last title from Fujiwara. Yen Press licensed the manga series for an English release in February 2024.
Fujiwara’s Inu x Boku SS manga was serialized in Gangan Joker from April 22, 2009 to February 22, 2014 for a total of 11 tankobon volumes. Yen Press also releases the manga in English.
The series inspired a 12-episode TV anime adaptation in 2012 from David Production.

The lieutenant is merciless and cunning. He’s the brains behind the organization and righthand man to the king.
