A new PV trailer has been released for the ongoing Vampire Dormitory TV anime series, which is set to premiere its 12th and final episode on June 23, 2024. The anime first began airing in Japan on April 7, 2024.
Nobuyoshi Nagayama (Ayaka, Smile Down the Runway, Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan) is directing the anime, with Toko Machida (A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life, Smile Down the Runway) as screenwriter, and Naomi Tsuruta (NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Episode 7 co-animation director) as character designer. Studio Blanc is handling the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main cast includes:
- • Kana Ichinose as Mito Yamamoto
- • Shunichi Toki as Ruka Saotome
- • Yuuichiro Umehara as Ren Nikaido
- • Wataru Hatano as Komori
- • Yuusuke Shirai as Takara Kagurazaka
- • Yuuki Sakakihara as Juri
The anime is based on the supernatural romance manga by Ema Toyama and was first launched in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine on November 2, 2018. Thirteen tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2024, with a 14th volume set for release on July 11, 2024. Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English for North America.
The anime adaptation celebrates Nakayoshi’s 70th anniversary in publication and Toyama’s 20th anniversary as a manga artist.
Crunchyroll is streaming the series in select English-speaking countries and territories, and describes the synopsis as:
After losing her parents and being abandoned by her relatives, Mito is left all alone in the world. When she’s kicked out of the restaurant where she works with no money and no place to live, she is taken in by Ruka, a vampire. In exchange for giving Ruka her blood as his “food,” she ends up living with him in a boys’ dorm full of beautiful boys with unique personalities…?!
