An exciting new climax visual and action PV trailer have been revealed for the ongoing Wistoria: Wand and Sword TV anime series. The anime first aired in Japan on July 7, 2024 and will run for a total of 12 episodes.
Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director, Black Clover director [until Episode 152] and chief director [Episode 153 onwards]) is directing the anime, and is also involved as the screenwriter and scriptwriter.
Other staff include Sayaka Ono (Cross Ange Rondo of Angel and Dragon, Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-) as character designer, Naomi Nakano (Solo Leveling) as color designer, Yuki Maeda (Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King) as art director, Ayako Otsuki (The Tale of Outcasts) as composting director, Hiroto Morishita (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!) as sound director, and Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) as music composer. ACTAS and Bandai Namco Pictures are handling the animation production.
Raita Sunaga (Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-), Yoshiro Harada (Dairugger XV mechanical designer), and Ryo Akizuki (Princess Principal Crown Handler prop designer) are involved as monster designers for the series. Akizuki is also credited as a prop designer.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars:

The anime is based on the adventure fantasy manga series, written by Danmachi‘s Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi, which was first launched in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on December 9, 2020. Ten tankobon volumes have been released as of June 2024. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English after licensing the series in 2021.
Crunchyroll will stream Wistoria: Wand and Sword worldwide, outside of Japan, describing the main synopsis as:
A hard-working boy named Will enters a magic academy in hopes of becoming a great sorcerer. Unfortunately, there’s a fatal flaw in his plan: he lacks the ability to use magic. Amid the cold stares of his classmates and instructors, Will feels discouraged at times, but he presses forward with unwavering determination. He can’t use a wand, but he can wield a sword in his battle to reach the top of a magic-dominated world. He just needs to believe in his own unique strengths and remember the promise he made with someone precious to him…
